Beck locks down fourth week at #1 with his fourteenth LP, Hyperspace

Beck had his first big threat of 2020 in ending his run at #1 on the NACC 200, but he fends off the challenge and locks down his fourth week at #1 with his fourteenth LP, Hyperspace (Capitol Records). Just last week Beck played Sean Penn’s annual CORE Gala in LA to benefit Haiti relief after the 2010 earthquake. Along with Portugal. The Man, Jenny Lewis, and others, the event raised $5 million.

Making a massive move and lining up for a serious run at #1 next week is last week’s most-added and highest-debuting record from Athens. GA band Of Montreal. Their sixteenth LP, UR FUN, soars from 53-2 on the NACC 200 this week. Also reaching the Top 10 is last week’s biggest NACC 200 climber, Devon Gilfillian, up 23-8.

Leaping aboard the NACC 200 this week and scoring the highest debut of not only the week but the young year is English band Field Music, fronted by brothers David & Peter Brewis. Their seventh LP, Making A New World, jumps onto the chart at #23, just besting other Top 30 debuts from Alexandra Savior and Marcus King.

This week’s biggest climber on the NACC 200 is Los Angeles-based Dreaming Of Ghosts, who have released their self-titled debut LP on Trees And Cyborgs. The album climbs from 177-88 on the chart this week.

Collecting the most Top 10 Adds this week is Brisbane, Australia’s WAAX. Formed in 2013, the band self-released two EPs in 2015 and 2017 before signing to Aussie label Dew Process for their debut LP, Big Grief.

Nathaniel Rateliff debuts at #1 on NACC Singles this week with “And It’s Still Alright,” the lead single from his first solo album in nearly seven years, due out February 14. Real Estate lands most-added singles honors with “Paper Cup,” the first taste of their fifth LP, The Main Thing, due February 28.
