#1 Wolf Parade | NACC Charts for the week ending February 11!

The Top 3 on the NACC 200 last week all had a shot at the top spot this week. When the dust settled all three remained in the Top 3. But numbers 1 & 3 swapped places giving us our third #1 of 2020: Wolf Parade‘s fifth LP, Thin Mind. The Montreal trio’s entire musical output have been released by Sub Pop, dating back to their 2005 debut LP, Apologies To The Queen Mary. Wolf Parade will try to fend off the fast-charging Destroyer (45-4) for a second week on top next week.

The NACC Top 10 is fresher this week than it has been in ages as 2020 releases flush out those of 2019. Three more albums reach the Top 10 this week after five reached the region last week. Torres climbs 19-8 to join the aforementioned Destroyer. But it’s a spectacular 127-10 leap from Hop Along’s Frances Quinlan that makes the biggest mark. Likewise (Saddle Creek) is the first release Quinlan has put out under her own name and follows her NACC 200 chart-topping Hop Along release, Bark Your Head Off, Dog, in 2018.

Not only does Baltimore-based Dan Deacon land this week’s biggest climb, his fifth LP (and third for Domino Records), Mystic Familiar, is the NACC 200’s biggest climber ever. The album soars from 198-20 on the chart this week, besting the 177-spot climb by Julia Holter in 2018.

Boston native Ella O’Connor Williams, who records as Squirrel Flower, enjoys the highest debut on the NACC 200 this week with her debut LP, I Was Born Swimming, out now on Polyvinyl. It follows her first release, an EP entitled Contact Sports. Her new LP jumps aboard the NACC 200 at #26 this week.

Collecting the most Top 10-Adds this week is Chicago’s Post Animal. Formed in 2014, they are following up their 2018 debut LP, When I Think Of You In A Castle, with their new Polyvinyl album, Forward Motion Godyssey. The band is now a five-piece after co-founder and Stranger Things actor, Joe Keely left the band last year. The album debuts on the NACC 200 this week at #134.

Pearl Jam lock down #1 on the NACC Singles Chart again this week with “Dance Of The Clairvoyants,” the first single from their upcoming Gigaton album due March 27. After five years away, Built To Spill returns with “Bloody Rainbow,” the first single from an upcoming tribute album based on their rehearsals as backing band for their friend, the late Daniel Johnston, who passed away late last year.

The Top 5 overall NACC Adds, all of this week’s #1 genre releases, and most-added genre records are included below. There are new #1s at NACC Non-Comm, World, Electronic, Folk, and a return to #1 at Latin.
