#1 Run The Jewels | NACC Charts for the week ending June 30

Note: Our annual week off from charts due to the Canada Day & Independence Day holidays is next week (July 7). NACC Charts will return July 14. Enjoy your holiday!

The #1 spot on the NACC 200 building chart had a game of musical chairs going on between Phoebe Bridgers, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, and Run The Jewels this week. In the end, it was Mike Render (Killer Mike) and Jamie Meline (El-P) of Run The Jewels who came out on top for a second week with RTJ4 (Jewel Runners/RBC/BMG), their fourth LP. They also spend a second week atop the NACC Hip Hop and NACC NEXT Charts.

Two albums reach the NACC Top 10 this week. Ohmme jumps 14-8. But it’s last week’s most-added and highest debuting record from Los Angeles musician Phoebe Bridgers who makes the biggest climb. Her sophomore LP, Punisher, leaps from 19-3 on the NACC 200 this week. Bridgers is no stranger to the NACC 200, reaching the chart four times since 2017 on her own and with her bands boygenius and Better Oblivion Community Center.

Houston, Texas trio Khruangbin scores the highest debut of the year on the NACC 200 with their third LP, Mordechai (Dead Oceans). The band soars onto the chart this week at #12. It’s their second appearance on the NACC 200 this year after reaching #6 in March with their collaborative EP with Leon Bridges, Texas Sun.

The NACC 200’s biggest climb this week comes from Roy Ayers, Adrian Younge, & Ali Shaheed Muhammad. Roy Ayers JID 002 (Jazz Is Dead) is the second in a series of releases from producer Younge and rapper Muhammad (a former member of A Tribe Called Quest). This release teams them with “The Godfather of Neo Soul” Roy Ayers, who hasn’t released new music in 18 years. The album jumps 184-36 and tops the NACC Jazz Chart.

This week’s most-added album comes from Montreal five-piece, Pottery. Their debut LP, Welcome To Bobby’s Motel (named after an inside joke between band members), collects 57 Top 10 Adds this week, closely besting Khruangbin and Becca Mancari for most-added honors. The album debuts on the NACC 200 at #148.

Elvis Costello locks down #1 on the NACC Singles Chart for a second week with his new protest single “No Flag.” Indiana trio Hoops returns with “Fall Back,” this week’s most-added single and the first song released from their upcoming Halo LP, due October 2.

The NACC Top 5 overall Adds, this week’s genre chart-toppers, and the week’s most-added genre records are included below. There are new #1s at NACC Canadian, Heavy, Folk, R&B/Soul, Chill, Latin, & Jazz.
