Phoebe Bridgers ekes out fourth week at #1 with Punisher

The battle for the NACC 200 crown was even more fierce this week than last with quite possibly the slimmest margin ever between #1 and #2 on the chart. When all was said and done Phoebe Bridgers eked out a fourth week on top with her sophomore LP, Punisher (Dead Oceans). The album also returns to #1 at NACC NEXT and rises to #1 at NACC Canadian (a rare Non-Canadian #1 there). The Beths, who held at #2 on the NACC 200, will need to wait another week to push for their first chart-topper there.

Los Angeles quartet Illuminati Hotties continue to impress. After landing ‘most-added’ honors two weeks ago, and ‘highest debut’ honors last week, their self-released second LP, FREE I.H.: This Is Not The One You’ve Been Waiting For makes the week’s biggest climb into the Top 10, rising 14-6. Also reaching the NACC Top 10 is Marge Price (11-7).

The NACC 200’s highest debut this week comes from Canadian artist Jessy Lanza. The Hamilton, ON native was a Top 5 NACC Add last week and this week soars onto the chart at #24 with her third album, All This Time (Hyperdub). The LP also reaches the Top 5 of the NACC Electronic Chart this week, rising 16-5. All This Time is one of two albums to debut inside the Top 30 of the NACC 200 this week, the other coming from Winter (#26).

Another one of last week’s Top 5 Adds is this week’s biggest climber. It comes from Georgia folk musician Liza Anne Odachowski, who records simply as Liza Anne. Her fourth LP, Bad Vacation (Arts & Crafts), jumps 185-27 on the NACC 200 this week.

Ernest Green (aka Washed Out) returns with his first album since 2017. That record, Mister Mellow, became just the second album ever to debut inside the NACC 200’s Top 10 (a feat that has still only been accomplished eight times over the past four years). His new album, Purple Noon (Sub Pop), collects more Top 10 Adds than any record has since Fiona Apple’s back in April. It also hops aboard the NACC 200 at #37 this week.

Future Islands continues to dominate the NACC Singles Chart for a third week with “For Sure,” which just became their third single to reach the Billboard Adult Alternative Songs Chart. Andy Shauf lands this week’s most-added single with “Judy” b/w “Jeremy’s Wedding” (B-Sides from his recent The Neon Skyline LP).

The NACC 200’s Top 5 overall Adds, this week’s genre chart-toppers, and the week’s most-added genre records are included below. In addition to Phoebe Bridgers’ aforementioned return to #1 at NACC NEXT and the new NACC Canadian #1 placement, there are new chart-toppers at World, Latin, Folk, and Heavy as well.
