Version 3.0 & Paid Tier

Version 3.0 of the NACC site is scheduled to be launched next week. It will most likely happen after this next reporting period, but we have some improvements we think will help make reporting & tabulating charts even better. The site will be down for a number of hours so we’ll be sure to keep you updated as it’s happening.

These include:

  • The remember me next time button on the login page will actually remember you!
  • Admins will be able to download spreadsheets of users so that we can keep up to date on all of the members we have
  • The header will condense when you go to enter in your Top 30. This will give you a better view of your Top 30 with less scrolling.
  • The going for adds reporting window will close at 5pm the Thursday before the “going for adds week” — i.e. Labels must have next weeks “going for adds” in the system by 5pm on Thursdays if they want them to be available for “Top Adds” – (for the record, label users can add things up to two months before they go for adds, so the new deadline will have a long lead time
  • Visually show records (red box) that are blank when save is pressed, pop-up alert “Not all entries are complete, cannot save changes”. This will prevent incomplete charts from being saved which wreaks havoc on the tabulation engine. It will also help you notice that you’ve not selected which title from and artist that you wanted to (the most common problem we see)
  • System Admins will be able to merge duplicate entries. This will ensure that a typo or submission error won’t prevent the mistaken title from being tabulated (or us have to manually re enter the entire title on every station that reported it)

When entering new artists:

  • Artist names will automatically fill in ALL CAPS saving you the trouble of remembering to toggle
  • A button will appear for Various Artists. If you click it, the name of the Artist and Album will flip flop to the correct reverse method
  • A button will appear saying “is this record self-released.” If you click it, the “label” field will auto populate to Self-Release saving a bunch of errors that where throwing off the tabulation. Self-Released is by far the biggest “record label” at college radio.
  • You will select buttons for “Album” “EP” “Single” “Advance Tracks” – this will auto correct the title to the correct formatting (with brackets, quotations, etc)

PAID TIER LAUNCH

First, let me calm you down and remind you that YOU (the radio station) will not be paying to report to NACC now or ever. But at launch of the new site we will be adding the paid tier of the website for labels and promoters. This will allow us to keep the lights on around here and help us pay our developers to help build new features and the next generation of the website. Next Tuesday’s data will be sent out for free as it has been since we launched the site, but after that access to individual station data will fall under the paid tier. Pricing is as follows: $100 per month ($25 per week, essentially), billed monthly or $1,000 per year (buy 10 months, get two free). Once built, Promoters and labels will then have:

  • Access to station top 30’s in “real-time” as they arrive
  • Break-out genre charts (soon!)
  • A station database with contact info

We just wanted to make you aware and keep you in the loop. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out as we’re happy to discuss. support@naccchart.com
